With the opening of the Blue Apron Cooking School in 2005, Liz Turner fulfilled a life-long desire to share her passion for cooking and entertaining in a small group setting. She has received instructor certification from Tante Marie’s Cooking School in San Francisco, studied at Chez Madeline’s in Chicago and at Ma Cuisine in Los Angeles under Julia Child.
Sometimes, I meet people who claim they don’t enjoy cooking – that it is just a chore to be accomplished. I think that’s sad because food, and its preparation, is such a central part of our everyday lives. It should be a joy and a pleasure to prepare and share a meal with those we love. Turns out, often these folks just lack some basic skills and general knowledge of cooking, and it all seems so complicated and time consuming. No wonder it is no fun.
The goal of The Blue Apron Cooking School is to teach cooking, from basic to more advanced. There isn’t a class offered this season where a beginner would feel out-of-place, with perhaps the exception of the Culinary Challenge.
At each class there is a wealth of cooking hints, tips & techniques explained and demonstrated. Each student will receive hands-on experience with guidance and inputs from Liz. Most important, it all takes place in a casual relaxed family kitchen, where not only do we learn a lot, we have a great time doing it!

Keep some next to your stove & prep area.
Taste at every step and adjust seasonings as you go.
Never serve a dish that you haven't first tasted!
