Policies & FAQ's

The goal of the Blue Apron Cooking School is to teach cooking, from basic to the more advanced. Each class offers a wealth of cooking tips and techniques that are explained and demonstrated. Each student receives hands-on experience with guidance and input from Liz. It all takes place in a casual, relaxed family kitchen (specially outfitted for classes) where we have great fun while enhancing our cooking skills!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & POLICIES

What is the class "format"?
Two types of classes are offered - hands-on (limited to 10 students) and "demonstration" (limited to 25 students). Both last about 3-4 hours, unless otherwise noted. Each class concludes with a complete meal and beverage accompaniment.

What should I wear or bring to class?
Everything will be provided -- recipes, pens, equipment, aprons, etc. Casual comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended.

How do I register for a class?
Review the classes offered on the Class Schedule page, select a class, then click on class buttons to pay by credit, debit, or Paypal. If paying by cash or check, click on Register to enter the information requested. You will be notified via email when confirmed. Payment by credit card, in full, at the time of registration is required, unless other arrangements have been made, such as paying by check or cash (which must be received within 7 days, or your reservation will be cancelled). Reminders and driving directions will be sent via email a few days prior to each class. You may also contact Liz regarding any other questions you have that are not answered here.

How does the Wait-List work for sold-out classes?
You can add your name to the wait-list for a class. No payment is required until a spot becomes available. If so, you will be contacted by phone or email. The wait-list is provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are fully refundable if made at least 7 days prior to the class. Class credit will be issued for cancellations 3 days prior to class -- this means that payment will be saved for a future class registration. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations at less than 3 days. You are welcome to send someone in your place at any time!

Please reserve your classes as soon as possible. Class size is limited and they can fill quickly. 

Depending on availability and demand, additional classes may be offered.

A class may be cancelled at the discretion of management.

In case of inclement weather, you will be contacted via phone or email, if a class needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.

The instruction intricacies really made the recipes terrific - who knew you cut chocolate at a 45% angle on a wooden board. We have tried out some of the recipes and they were a hit. Hi Liz, Your warmth and generous hospitality make the cooking experience a delight. I noticed that second helpings on the lamb were taken by all of our group, which says a lot when 3 out of 4 aren't particularly crazy about lamb! - Barb
