A Wedding Dinner Under the Stars
In spite of threatening rain all day we pressed on. As luck would have it, an hour before the 6:00 pm start time the skies cleared and brought a gentle breeze. It was to be a lovely evening!
In the meantime, the crazies of the last minute prep were underway in my kitchen. Earlier in the day I prepped as many items for the dinner as possible, assembled and frosted the wedding cake, dipped and decorated the “bride & groom” strawberries for the top, and packed up all remaining items to go.
At 3:00pm two dear neighborhood friends came to lend much appreciated extra hands. We moved a mountain of table setting and décor items to the wedding location and scurried to set and arrange the tables and décor.
This was to be a small intimate wedding and dinner, with the fancy extravagant celebration to come a bit later. None-the-less, it was “the day,” so it needed to be perfect. The vows were spoken under a beautiful arch set among the pines in the garden. After photos, and as the sunlight began to fade, everyone enjoyed cocktails, an appetizer Charcuterie Platter of meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, & nibbles.
Then on to the fun and festive dinner, served on the deck under twinkling garden lights and a nearly full moon. In keeping with the casual but special theme of the wedding, the dinner chosen was a King Crab Fest with all the trimming, served family style.

And to my dear husband, you are always there, willing to do the heavy lifting, provide positive support and encouragement. And then lend a hand with the clean up!
